Pregnancy Symptoms

Although pregnancy symptoms sound unbearable and extreme, they are quite different for everyone. Some women may experience frequent headaches, yet others will only get heart burn when they eat certain foods. It is impossible to predict the specific symptoms that you will have. However, it is smart to know the symptoms to look for if you feel that you may be pregnant. By giving yourself this knowledge, you will be much more prepared and ready to take the pregnancy head on!

1. Of course having no period for the month is the first sign of potential pregnancy. However, your body often plays a series of mean tricks on you. Missing periods can also be caused by extreme stress, bad eating habits, or other underlying issues. This does not always mean that you are pregnant. Nonetheless, if you find that your breasts are also growing each day, you should take a pregnancy test.

2. Morning sickness is another prominent symptom. If you are feeling nauseous most of the day, you should consult a doctor. It normally appears after a few weeks of being pregnant and can last all the way until you are in labour. However, it will normally subside after a few months. It all depends on the woman. If you do feel sick, it is recommended that you drink a lot of water. Ginger snaps or anything containing ginger also may help with the morning sickness.

3. When the bladder size reduces during pregnancy, most women urinate more frequently.

4. Extreme fatigue is another big symptom of pregnancy. Most pregnant women constantly feel over-tired. Luckily there are vitamins and healthy foods that can ease this and increase energy.

5. Constipation - Every woman hates this, but this is another common symptom.

6. Breasts become tender and may swell to prepare the mother for breast feeding. Many women who are normally small-chested enjoy this symptom, since their breasts do become larger.

7. Heart burn - It is necessary to eat foods low in Sodium and to make sure that you are eating healthily. Too many combinations and bad foods will only lead you to painful heart burn.

8. Mood swings - Although women usually blame this on PMS, this is another pregnancy symptom. Since a mother's hormones are constantly changing and going crazy, mood swings are quite common. During this time women may feel like crying or become depressed for no real reason.

9. Cravings - During your entire pregnancy, there may be intense and strange food cravings. Although many women feel that they should be eating for both themselves and their baby, this is a myth. Their bodies only require 300 extra calories a day. This means that they should monitor their diet and make sure they are eating unhealthy foods in moderation.

10. Headaches and feeling light-headed are also signs of pregnancy.
